Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, BILL has had a rounded spectrum of music in his musical history. He began playing keyboard & saxophone at a young age while still in grade school. Some of his heros were right there in town as influences such as REVELATION FUNK from which came JAMES INGRAM, LYFE brought the likes of HOWARD HEWETT, ALIAS FUNK & SOUL emerged the Funk drums of BEN POWERS who now and has been with the ORIGINAL PARLIAMENT for 20+ years. Before Bill Was out of Jr. High he had played his first paying gig which made him a professional at the price of $19.00 with his oldest brother. His first big stage performance was opening act for CAMEO introducing their debut album in Lorain, Ohio.Having received high achievements in music throughout High School and attending many band & jazz camps through different organizations Bill came upon the opportunity to study under ROLAND PAOLUCCI Head Instructor of the JAZZLAB at the UNIVERSITY OF AKRON through Akron's URBAN LEAGUE.Upon graduating high school Bill has had the opportunity and honor to perform at VATICAN CITY in ROME ITALY before the POPE JOHN PAUL II with THE ALL-AMERICAN YOUTH HONOR BAND. Travels have also taken Bill to INDONESIA, HONG KONG, & Many cities in JAPAN.
Moving to Atlanta in the 80's opened many doors of opportunity as a keyboard player when horn jobs all but faded away. Meeting & performing with keyboardist TC JASON proved beneficial including becoming a member of THE SOS BAND in which TC was co founder in the middle 90's contributing to the already funk for which they are legendary. Bill has opened shows and headlined with various acts such as TYRONE DAVIS , BOBBY "BLUE" BLAND , WILLIAM BELL , BOBBY RUSH , THE BARKAYS , THE OHIO PLAYERS , ZAPP , THE FLOATERS, TEENA MARIE, CONFUNKSHUN, LAKESIDE, ROSE ROYCE, THE DAZZ BAND ,THE GAP BAND , EVELYN KING, THE MARY JANE GIRLS & BOBBY WOMACK.All the while Bill has been WRITING & PRODUCING on his own material as well collaborating with various artist on their projects over the years. Most of what you hear was recorded on saxophone and lead vocal in ONE TAKE and UNCUT like it was done back in the day for the natural true feeling and expression.Always ready to give what the party calls for Bill has stepped from the backline to the forefront as his own hornman and strong heartfelt vocalist.
