John Naismith

John is a songwriter from Glasgow and is currently a member of the band Oneday40.He grew up in the east end of Glasgow on a diet of Country music supplied by his father.Hank Williams and Buck Owens were the first introduction he had to real songwriting and it stuck with him through his musical life. Playing in bands through his formative years gave him the experience and confidence to start writing songs of his own, he dabbled in the Punk/Rock genre for many years and ventured into the pop market with his band Filming in Africa but his true calling was Country music and he found his feet in the acclaimed British band Evangeline, they recorded 2 great albums and played hundreds of shows in the uk even venturing to Nashville and LA for a number of shows.Now his focus is on taking Oneday40 to a higher plain than Evangeline and with the release of the new album and shows lined up all looks well for the future. Songwriting is still his passion and on the player are some efforts over the years which have received nice reviews.
