STERLING STRENGTH ENTERTAINMENT is an independent record label/ production house, that is owned by INSANE RECORDINGS' proprietor/ music impressario, KEITH RODGERS, professionally known as the super-producer I.M.. With nearly 20 years experince in music production, and 17 years worth of toil within the record industry itself, the propretor of S.S.E. aims to break the sexy, alluring & fashionably stylish glamour model-turned vocalist, whose moniker is BABY KYM.
The primary concern of S.S.E. is to establish itself within a worldwide infrastructure/ distribution network, so as to endeavour to become a vanity label, ie. S.S.E. wishes to be picked up either by a 'major'/ major independent record label/ publishing company. S.S.E. are only interested in talking to companies such as VIVENDI/ UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP, SONY/ BMG, WARNER MUSIC GROUP (and their subsidaries), EMI, WARNER/ CHAPELLE MUSIC, INC. PUBLISHING (B.M.I.), and their ilk. With this in mind, the consensus of the company is the belief that Baby Kym can be turned from a precocious talent from CANTERBURY, KENT...to a vocalist of stature in regards to the worldwide stage/ arena league. S.S.E. is very much fraught with excitement, about making Baby Kym an international brand/ world phenomenon.
The business model that S.S.E. will be adopting will be, essentially, to be ahead of the technology curve. That is to say...to embrace the multi-media age, downloads, etc. Multi-media marketing will be crucial, to whether the consumer gravitates to Baby Kym. S.S.E. is also very much concerned about encryption D.R.M. (Digital Rights Management)...essentially, watermarking embedded in the metadata of digital files, thus having an awareness of who is purchasing the music/ files; what devices the digital retailer uses, etc. With more storage space on iPods in the near future - which is measured in gigabytes - which may amount up to 500,000gb, music fans while have the power to place more mp3s on their systems. Consequently, in theory, more consumers will be buying more music downlaods, something that S.S.E. can tap into that market share.
The musical direction/aesthetic, in regards to Baby Kym, is essentially hip-hop driven. However, expect to hear an amalgamation of sounds, ranging from Middle-eastern, African, Oriental, and Latino influences [I.M. also has one of the most extensive drum libraries in the world - drumz that have already been 'treated' on the big-boy mixing consoles. Only the big 5 producers: DR. DRE, TIMBALAND, THE NEPTUNES, SCOTT STORCH, and FOCUS are fukken with me, when it comes to drumz!!!}. I.M. is therefore going to create a new vibe, an extention of 'dungeon funk', called 'dungeon pop' (I'm all about infiltrating pop culture, with my vibe [ultimately, I wish to be recognised, as one of the world's premier producers du jour, as well as achieve the ultimate goal - to be on the cover of 'BILLBOARD' and 'MUSIC WEEK' publications; I believe I can achieve this, with the pop-tinged Kym}), geared for mass appeal.
Baby Kym will be collaborating with renowned UK songwriter/ vocal producer MARVEE 'KILLA HOOKS' WOODS (who has wriiten for LIBERTY X, TERRI WALKER, AYAK, amongst others), for Kym's album, a project which will soon be in pre-production. Ultimately, the aspiration is to maximise Kym's project sonically, in which what would be required is to do the final mixes on either one of the AMS NEVE 88RS, or the SOLID STATE LOGIC G, J or K-SERIES consoles. S.S.E. are in the business of making hit records...so that's the aim! I.M.'s critical ear...plus Kym's visually enticing image and vocal range, could prove to be a winner, in a time when the music business is in crisis! The ethos/ motto of S.S.E. is really quite simple: "WE DON'T MESS WITH PERSONNEL WHO ARE 'TRYING' TO GET INTO THE INDUSTRY...WE ONLY MESS WITH THOSE PEOPLE WHO 'ARE' IN THE INDUSTRY!". Hence, S.S.E. are primarily interested in meeting A&R representatives of record companies/ publishers.
