Drunk romantic musician exhibiting the consequences of such a life in, as you may have guessed, 'song form' since 2002. Real Music for Real People, And those of us who hate our flatmates yet could never find the words let alone chords to tell them.
After 7 years of writing and performing, Sydney based artist Hollie Matthew has finally emerged on the scene hitting venues like The Supper Club, Bar Me, Annandale Hotel, Hard Rock Cafe, The Excelsior. With a live performance that blows every preconception of Singer/Songwriters you had out of the water, fans and strangers alike agree: Hollie has IT. As well as a sterling back catalog of hilarious banter and jokes. (Release of the Official Hollie Matthew JokeBook Compendium patent pending) The recent release of her debut EP recorded at NoiseGate Studios in May 2009, see's the energy and raw passion of her live show caught with the depth and layering the studio affords. Fans have likened Hollie to a gutsier Sarah Blasko with a rock edge but even this conclusion is drawn from the inability to describe her work. More accurately, the artist herself describes her own music. 'It doesnt sound anything like Meatloaf, Pat Benetar or Bonnie Tyler, But i wish it did.'
