Anyone that has heard Playground Etiquette will say that they have experienced a new breed of rock. With the philosophy that everyone should have an equal say, it is no surprise that the band’s authentic hybrid sound is actually as eclectic as they claim it to be. Genuine variety is what is important to them and that is blatant to anyone that listens to the band. Fusing musical influences from Rage against the Machine, Tool, European bands such as Muse, and the pop-punk spunk energy of Paramore, the band defines a new genre of rock.
Playground Etiquette’s debut album, “Hit the Lightsâ€, was described as a “refreshing piece of cross-genre magic†(Unwind Magazine) and guarantees a successful fusion of different styles of music. From melodic vocal lines to intricate guitar solos to heavy break downs that even a timid spectator would move to, all four members – Athena, Mason, Johnny, and Andrew – come together to pour a disturbing amount of high energy and musicality into each song, leaving listeners jaw-dropped and begging for more from an iPod to the stage.
