I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Hmmm...How to describe myself...let's see...Artist who works in almost every medium (From Oil paint to Steel sculpture to Ceramics) and Genre (Impressionist to Neo Modern to Medieval). For more than a decade I have done extensive historical research and have written scholarly papers in Celtic Studies with a concentration in Irish Metalwork from 100BCE to 1300CE. I'm also a musician of Irish Traditional music in which I play Bagpipes, Bodhran (the irish frame drum), Low Whistles, and 12-string guitar. One of my more lifelong hobbies has been Historical Reenactment for the last 18 years with the Society for Creative Anachronisms (SCA)...it is in the SCA that I have my second family in the Clan Marshin Fayne (http://www.clanmarshinfayne.org). In the Society I am known as Roibeard Gillean MacNeill, a c.1587 Scots/Irish Privateer for the Kingdom of Spain. Last but certainly first in my life is my soulmate and dearest friend, my lovely wife Dee. We have been together since June of 2002 and have been married for over 3 years. We are both proud "parents" of two very large cats and as of 3/20/07 the very, very proud parents of a wondrously cute and precocious little girl named Elanor Esperanza Murphy Garcia, Who will grow up to definitely drive her mother and father utterly NUTS...but that's okay.
