About Me

I am a writer trapped in my own head. Someday I'll get out of it and publish a novel. I am a nice, sometimes shy, sometimes goofy, always spontaneous person. I believe the true sign of intelligence is the ability to create, not imitate. I enjoy music, movies, theater and anything artsy. I am also a big sports fan and baseball history freak. I am a former journalist who is now attending graduate school. I recently started my new career as a teacher.

My Interests

I am a runner. Ran track in college. I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and camping (recently hiked and camped in the Grand Canyon for three days). I love movies and music and sports. I love writing.

I'd like to meet:

I would love to meet Hunter S. Thompson, Satchel Paige, Jackie Robinson, Ted Williams, Martin Luther King, Ghandi, Charles Dickens and General George Patton. There are more, but I'll stop there.

Music:

I like a lot of music. I like the blues, Ben Folds, Foo Fighters, Death Cab For Cutie, most classic rock, The Get Up Kids and many, many more. Not a big fan of rap or country, but did recently buy a Kanye West song off Itunes. Yes, if nothing is on the radio, I will keep the station tuned to Kelly Clarkson. I admit it.

Movies:

The Shawshank Redemption, Fight Club, Garden State, Donnie Brasco, A Bronx Tale, Office Space, The Thin Red Line, Big Fish, Rounders, The Big Lebowski, and more.

Television:

Don't watch much TV. Mostly sports, The Simpsons and Family Guy.

Books:

Great Expectations, In Cold Blood, and Tuesday's with Morrie.

Heroes:

Heroes are those we place on pedestals, only so we can tear them from grace at a later date. Real heroes are those we encounter daily. My grandfather was my hero.
