I AM BLESSED TO BE A MOTHER OF A WONDERFUL SEVEN YEAR OLD LITTLE MAN. I AM A BUISNESS OWNER. A HOME OWNER AND I FEBUARY I WILL FINALY HAVE MY OWN RESTURANT. (PRAISE THE LORD) I AM A FRIEND, A DAUGHTER, AND I PRAY THAT I HAVE BEEN A BLESSING TO OTHERS. ONE OR TWO PEOPLE HAVE SAID SO.. SO I THINK I'M GOOD. I WAS AND STILL AM BLESSED WITH THE TALENT TO COOK AND INVISION. I ALSO WRITE. BUT COOKING IS MY PASSION. IT IS MY 5th LOVE... I KNOW YOU ALL ARE SAYING 5th LOVE.... YES MY 5th. HERE HOW IT GOES.. MY LORD IS FIRST AND FORE MOST. THEN MY SON. THEN MY DADDY, THEN MYSELF, THEN MY PASSION. YOU KNOW I STARTED COOKING WHEN I WAS ABOUT 12. IT WAS BY ACCIDENT. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW I KNEW HOW. MY MOM WAS SICK IN THE HOSPITAL (SHE SPENT A LOT OF TIME THERE) AND I SAW MY DADDY COME IN FROM WORK NIGHT AFTER NIGHT AND CALL PEOPLE (MY AUNTIES) TO SEE IF THEY HAD COOKED. AND OF COURSE THEY MADE SURE THEIR BABY BROTHER HAD FOOD. BUT ONE DAY I SAID I WANT TO MAKE MY DADDY SOME FOOD, SO I WNET IN TO THE KITCHEN AND DOWN INTO THE BASEMENT TO THE FREZZER AND GOT OUT THE OVEN STUFFER. AND I WASHED IT AND CALLED MY AUNTIE FOR A FEW TIPS AND I GOT TO COOKING. SHE KEPT ASKING ME DID I NEED HER. AND I SAID NO. I REMEMBERED HOW TO MAKE A FEW THINGS FROM MY "PEACH" MY GREAT GRNDMOTHER WHOM I CALLED TOO. SO I DID MY THING.. AS LONG AS IT SMELLED LIKE I THOUGHT I SHOULD SMELL AND LOOKED LIKE IT SHOULD I WAS ALL RIGHT. MY VERY FIRST MEAL WAS THE OVEN STUFFER, CORN PUDDING, CORN BREAD, BROCOLLI, CORN BREAD STUFFING, GARAVEY AND SWEET TEA.. YALL COULDN'T TELL ME NOTHING. IT LOOKED GOOD. I DIDN'T KNOW HOW IT TASTED BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO MESS ANYTHING UP FROM LOOKING SO GOOD. AND TO THIS DAY I NEVER TASTE MY FOOD I ALWAYS HAVE TASTE TESTERS. SO MY AUNTIE DECIDED TO COME AND CHECK ON ME. SO WHEN SHE HAD GOTTEN THERE I WAS JUST ABOUT DONE. AND MY PEACH WAS CALLING IT SEEM LIKE EVERY TEN MINUTES TO SEE IF I HADN'T BURNED THE HOUSE DOWN.. UNTIL MY AUNTIE ANSWERED THE PHONE ON THE 10,000 CALL. SO MY AUNTIE SAW WHAT I DID AND SHE WAS IMPRESSED. AND THE LOOK ON HER FACE MADE MY DAY. THEN SHE ASKED ME HOW DID I FEEL WHEN I TOOK THE GIBBLETS OUT OF THE BIRD. I SAID THE WHAT? WHAT ARE GIBBLETS.. SHE SAID DIDN'T YOU CLEAN THE CHICKEN NICHOLE? YES I DID CLEAN THE CHICKEN. THENSHE ASKED DID I SEASON THE INSIDE WITH THE SEASONINGS AND WITH THE ONIONS, GARLIC, CARROTS, CELERY, PEPPERS, ORANGES, AND LEMONS. I SAID YES. DID YOU RUB THE BUTTER OVER IT. I SAID YES. SHE SAID YOU DID ALL OF THAT AND DIDN'T TAKE THE BAG OUT OF THE CHICKEN? I ASKED HER WHAT IS A BAG DOING IN THE CHICKEN. SHE SAID WAIT LETS LOOK FOR IT. WE WILL MAKE YOUR FATHER A PLATE FIRST. SO WE MADE THE PLATE AND WHILE MAKING THE PLATE SHE PULLED OUT THE GIBBLET BAG. WHEN I SAW THAT I ALMOST PUKED ALL OVER THE CHICKEN.. I WAS MAD AT THE FACT THAT SHE TOUGHT I WAS SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT WAS IN THERE.. SHE DIDN'T TELL ME AND PEACH DIDN'T TELL ME. I HAD NEVER SEEN THAT BEFOR. SHE ASKED ME WHAT DID I PUT IN THE STUFFING I SAID CORN BREAD, CARROTS, CRLLERY, ONIONS AND SAUSAGE AND BELLS TURKEY SEASONING.SHE TASTED EVERYTHING AND SHE WAS IMPRESSED.THE LILTTLE SPOILED BRAT DID IT. SHE COOKED HER FIRST MEAL BY HERSELF AND DID IT. SO MY DADDY CAME HOME AND SAW THE FOOD. HE CALLED MY AUNTIES TO THANK THEM FOR COMING TO COOK BUT TWO DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT AND THEN HE CALLED PEACH AND SHE ACTED AS IF SHE DIDN'T KNOW THEN HE CALLED MY AUNTY EMMA AND SHE TOLD HIM SHE DIDN'T COOK ANYTHING. THEN HE ASKED ME WHO BROUGHT OVER THE FOOD. I SAID NO ONE I COOKED. HR LAUGHED IT OFF AND SAID IT HAD TO BE FAMILY BECAUSE OF THE CORN PUDDING SO HE CALLED MY AUNTY BACK AND SAID SOMEONE HAD COOKED AND HE WANTED TO KNOW WHO CAUSE WE DON'T EAT EVERY BODIES FOOD. SHE SAID DID YOU ASK PUNKIN HE SAID YES, AND SHE ASKED WELL WHAT DID SHE SAY. HE SAID SHE SAID SHE COOKED. AND MY AUNTY TOLD HIM I DID. AND HE THANKED HER FOR COMING TO HELP AND SHE TOLD HIM SHE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING I DID IT MYSELF. SHE TOLD HIM WHEN SHE HAD GOTTEN OVER I WAS DONE ALREADY.HE ASKED HER DID SHE TASTE IT. AND SHE TOLD HIM YES BUT HE WOULD HAVE TO EAT IT FOR HIMSELF. HE DID. HIS REACTION WAS ONE I WILL NEVER FORGET. THE LOOK ON HIS FACE MADE ME FEEL SO GOOD. AT THAT POINT I WAS SO PROUD OF MYSELF. AND THAT'S WHEN I KNEW I WANTED TO COOK. AND WHEN I DO MY DADDY IS THE FIRST TO PERSON I LOOK TO FOR HIS APPROVAL. I WNET TO COLLEDGE IN NC. I DIDN'T LIKE IT SO I CAME HOME AND WENT TO CULLINARY SCHOOL AND THE REST IS HISTORYI LOVE TO COOK AND I LOVE THE EXPRESSIONS ON FACES, AND I FEED OFF OF THE ACCOLADES I GET WHEN PEPOLE TASTE MY COOKING. I LOVE TO SEE MY SON'S FACE WHEN I MADE ELMO OUT OF A CUP CAKE FOR HIM. I LOVE WHEN I GO TO HIS SCHOOL AND GIVE THE CHILDREN BAKING LESSONS. WHEN THEY SEE WHAT THEY HAVE DONE, IT BUILS THEIR SELFESTEEM UP. IT MAKES THEM PROUD.. JUST LIKE IT DID ME. I LOVE WHEN MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS CALL ME AND ASK DID YOU COOK? OR THEY HINT TO ME THAT THEY WANT ME TO COOK A PARTICULAR DISH. I LOVED IT WHEN MY LATE FIANCE CAME HOME FROM WORK AND HE KNEW I WAS THERE WHEN HE SMELLED HIS DINNER COOKING FROM THE HALLWAY AND HE WOULD SAY I HAD A RUFF DAY BUT I'M GOOD NOW. OR WHEN WE WOULD COOK TOGETHER, AND HE WOULD TAKE MY FOOD TO HIS JOB ON MONDAYS.. AND HIS BOSS'S WIFE CALLED ME AND SAID THANKS FOR MAKING HER MONDAYS BETTER BECAUSE SHE NEVER HAD TO COOK ON MONDAYS, AND HIS CO-WORKERS HAD LUNCH ON MONDAYS. I LOVE TOO COOK. AND I THANK THE LORD FOR MY GIFT.
