About Me

I am glad for the opportunities that have been presented to me and even more excited that I had enough courage to take advantage of them.

My Interests

Genealogy, traveling, being in my yard, helping people heal, walking in the park with my son and snuggling until the wee hours chatting with my daughter.

I'd like to meet:

Bono, Queen Elizabeth I, Queen Elizabeth II, Helen Keller, Anne Sullivan, Mae West, Mary Magdalen, Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Andy Wood (Mother Love Bone), Aaron Lewis (Staind).

Music:

All genre - always looking. Introduce me to something new (the nephews are making their music known!). First choice is rock: soft, old and new. I enjoy renaissance music (comes with the Elizabeth thing), classical (too many years in band) and, actually, hymns.

Movies:

Anything about Queen Elizabeth I, historical, action, nothing scary, can't afford the light bill================~ Last Thing I Saw In A Theater ~
--------------------------------------Requirement for daughters Women's Studies course regarding the near impossibility for women to get a safe abortion in communist Roumania a few decades ago. I couldn't really put my finger on my feelings about it but yammered on to M about this and that while we left. Kind of pathetic movie, though. People wrestling about rights and wrongs on issues like that, when the issue really should first be about not losing our personal freedoms then people making the right choices.

Television:

When I watch, HGTV, DIY, anything "how to" or about nature, CSI Miami and, if I remember, Jeopardy.

Books:

Anything about Elizabeth I, her family or people from her time period, historical fiction or historical romance. Reading "After Elizabeth", along with 15 other books about Elizabeth I, right now. "After Elizabeth" covers the time period directly before and right after the death of Queen Elizabeth I marking the end of the Tudor age with the first-time ever transfer of the throne to a Scottish royal: King James IV of Scotland became King James I of England. King James is the son of Mary Queen of Scots, the very woman whom Elizabeth had emprisoned for 19 years on English soil following treason after treason in her attempt to become the Queen of England. Mary Queen of Scots is Elizabeth's direct cousin through her father, Henry VIII's sister, Margaret, who was pawned off to be married to King James V of Scotland. King James I of England is the man for whom the Bible is named.

Heroes:

...hmm, Queen Elizabeth I and my daughter.
