Psychomantia was formed by programmer/vocalist Soze (soe-zaye) and drummer Miles Martin. Soze started out as a local programmer/producer creating industrial mix tapes, inspired by bands like Art of Noise and Meat Beat Manifesto using samplers and sequencers to create music. Since then he has rose from obscurity into the Chicago industrial scene, sharing the stage with bands such as The Strand, Cyanotic, Critical System Error, Bio-Carbon 13, and others.
Inspired by bands like White Zombie, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Ministry, Hocico, Combichrist, Psyclon Nine, and Swamp Terrorists; Psychomantia attempts to stay true to the oldschool feel of hardcore industrial while at the same time progressing and re-inventing by adding real percussion, clever song progression, and intense live performance to create an unheard of sonic intensity within the genre. We are disciples of the harsh reality and desperation on the fringes of society. This is true life at its sickest and most depraved, its most forgotten and heartbroken, its darkest and most desperate, and its point of pure insanity. All we have to say, is harsh reality.
