About Me

Let's see. I've been told more times than i can count that i am O.C. (probably a little bit of truth in that) :P oh, i have also been told that i am jaded (probably more truth in that). But it is all good! My head is on straight, i have a roof over my head, clothes on my back, and food to eat, so i cant really complain (i could, and i will later!)But seriously, I am a musician by trade.Jim started playing acoustic and electric bass when he was 14. He has studied everything from classical to metal and has cultivated these different sounds into his own unique voice and style. In 2001 Jim moved to New York to study at The New School University Jazz and Contemporary Music Program. Jim has worked with such notable names as; Reggie Workman, Junior Mance, Jason Lindner, Greg Tardy, Joel Weiskopf, Myron Walden, Todd Williams, Nevaris, Memo Acevedo, Rouge State, John Bany, Don Stille, and Von Freeman. Jim also works as a composer/music director for film and documentaries. Current projects that he is working on include “MMovie” a feature length film that is still currently in production, and should be released in the later part of 2008. Jim’s work can also be heard in, “Child Boxer”, a documentary on underage boxing in L.A., and various Pez candy commercials. Studio work is also a large part of Jim’s life, engineering and producing various projects ranging from Hip Hop to contemporary classical music. Jim has worked with the Yayoi Ikawa Trio (Yayoi Ikawa, & Tyshawn Sorey) for many years. The trio is now touring all over the world to promote the release of their latest CD, “Color Of Dreams”. A main focus of Jim’s time is “Rogue State”, a political/social based hip hop/rock group that is also touring to promote their latest self-titled CD. Jim is also a part of the “violin fueled metal band” “Resolution 15”. Resolution 15 is creating a lot of buzz in the music world for being “original in a context of heaviness”. Currently Jim is working on a joint CD project with Kenny Grohowski of KeRaGe Productions. The album will cover a vast array of musical styles and genres; as well as show his skills as a composer, arranger, producer, and bass player.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

hmmmm... tough question. I would like to meet anyone and everyone (but lets be real, no one really wants to meet everyone, we only want to meet those people who are beneficial to us at that moment, or for several moments in our life, sad but true). Unfortunately i am the same as everyone else, i would like to meet people who are interested in an exchange. And by an exchange, i mean transferings of knowledge, friendship, music, love... you get the picture. To be real, i want to meet anyone who knows that they have something to learn from me, just like i know that i have something to learn from them. Eloquent, right? (LOL)
