..Recreate 99 exists in order to mobilize as many PEACEFUL protestors as possible for the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado in 2008. Our goal is to recreate the heroic popular protests in Seattle, Washington in 1999 in response to the WTO Ministerial Conference.
Our second main goal is to isolate and marginalize certain groups that plan to show up in Denver and assert their right to "self defense." We are organizing for a peaceful, nonviolent protest using passive civil disobedience. Our heroes are Gahndi and Rev. Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr., not some rock throwing hooligans. Recreate 99 maintains that the mainstream media blackout of public disaproval of the Iraq War mandates a massive popular demonstration in order to send a clear message to the Democratic Presidential Nominee that the People of the United States of America will no longer tolerate endless war.
Recreate 99 maintains that the mainstream media "whitewash" of racial inequality in the United States demands a show of civil disobedience that has not been seen in this country for decades.
Recreate 99 maintains that the absolute media blackout of the animal rights movement calls for a show of numbers in Denver, Colorado to demand change.
Recreate 99 maintains that the ongoing environmental, economic, and civil rights disaster in China mandates a massive call for change that cannot be ignored.
Recreate 99 also maintains that lack of a massive protest in Denver in 2008 will directly lead to four more years of war, four more years of corporatism/facism, and four more years of globalization and environmental degridation.
Recreate 99, then, maintains that it is the patriotic duty of every citizen of the United States that is anti-war, anti-globalization, anti-corporate, and pro-enviroment to show up in Denver, Colorado in August 25-28th, 2008 and demand your voice be heard
