About Me

About the Music..........History
I am the result of genetic and environmental conditioning. A family musical history that goes back 4 generations on all sides, to say that music comes natural is a vast understatement. Lullabies, ha try having a full "live" band lulling you to sleep every night as a child. My environment consisted of drums, guitars, pianos, mics, and the works set up in my living room as a child. I can remember singing in church at 3 years old. This was followed by performing at the local dance hall at 4 years old. For me it wasn’t anything special it was what was expected.
Instrumentation In the following months I was introduced to my first instrument, the drums. one, eee, and, ah, two, eee, and, ah three, eee, and ah, four, eee, and, ah. The following year introduced the piano, then the bass. When band was offered at school I felt like a kid in a candy store, but better! 1st 6 months were spent on the Tenor Sax, I also wanted to learn trumpet so I picked it up as well. Over the following summer I picked up the Clarinet, Trombone and my true love the guitar. In high school I picked up the French horn, and xylophone. I was also in Chamber Choir, Show Choir, and the ladies quartet. I loved all of it.
Song Writing My first song was composed on the piano at around 10 years old. My passion for writing didn't sink in until I learned to play the guitar at around 12 years old. Adolescence only fueled the fire. My music really became an escape and a positive way to express my feelings.
Today.........I'm now sitting on 50 some odd songs. My material ranges from my Gospel & Country roots, to the southern rock, blues, & classical influences I picked up along the way. You can hear bits of all the above in about every song I have written.
"No feeling compares to throwing your head back and belting a tune from the bottoms of your soul."
Personal.......I am the very proud mother of 3 children and 2 step-children. All of whom are exceptionally beautiful and talented. My husband is just the greatest man ever! I know just how lucky I am to have a man strong enough to handle me. Jason keeps a smile on face & he is also really good at inspiring me to write the more difficult types of songs.......Happy ones! My life is far from perfect, but I find myself happier now than I have ever been.
