JJ Gnortman Arms is a drummer, composer, and producer originally from the suburbs of Boston MA. He has been a composer ever since he could say "GahGah" and has played the drums since he was two years on the ground. We, the CBA (Cesspool Bronze Agency) recently ran into him mowing his lawn and planting flowers. He was kind enough to share his views on music of the past, present, and future......................................................
.................................................."Although I have been involved in music all of my life, I feel right now that I have just graduated nursery school and entered kindergarden. Kindergarden, to me, is a thorough understanding and feel for music all over the world from the beginning of mankind up until the present. There are subtle nuances in every village on Earth and back through every time period of human existence. We must meditate upon this for years if we want to get beyond it. Right now, in my primitive stages, I am hearing and composing what I call Ancient, or Timeless music of this world. This music penetrates deeper than any of the styles which came to be because it is of no style. It requires a very simple mindset. All of my musical knowledge must be thrown out. I am in a period of putting it into the garbage disposal. It served a great purpose for me up until this point, but now I must empty myself. My long term vision is to hear and compose what I call Outerworld music, which is Ancient, Timeless, and Infinite. It is not of this world. It sometimes may sound complicated, but it is really very simple, because there is no reason to try to comprehend it. The feeling is enough. It has nothing to do with me but it has everything to do with who We are, which in truth is Love. I know this music exists because I have heard it in my dreams. Hopefully someday I will grab a hold of it and share it with the world. Lord knows We all need it. But that is many years down the line. Remember, I am still in kindergarden."..............................................
