Growing up in west Baltimore running around neighborhoods such as Moreland Ave. and Baker St., North and Warwick ect... was rough at times. Jae went through some experiences that gave him a survivors mentality. He also had the opportunity to attend school in a Baltimore suburb (Woodlawn). It was believed to be a better environment in the mostly black middle class suburb. In all actuality the only difference between the two neighborhoods was the zipcodes.
Throughout his childhood he dealt with the loss of close family members such as his father, adopted father, and two uncles. Suffering these losses before the age of 13 had a great effect on his childhood. subconsciously he coped with his losses by rebelling, aggression, and becoming unapproachable. Along with those behaviors "being easily provoked to anger quickly earned him a reputation of being Crazy". This was a common misconception that often left him alone.
In his later years being grossly attractive to women opened the door for him to be outgoing. "Most niggaz in the hood can relate to me because they share a similar story" Young Jae 2008.
These along with a compilation of other experiences have developed him into a well rounded, but still grounded artist. With this said I would like to introduce you to Baltimore's own Young Jae!
