I'm a 23 year old female and I found a lump in my left breast 4 years ago (when I was 19). Finding a lump is the most frightening thing that has ever happened to me. I feared the worst when I felt it. I saw my GP and was referred to a Breast Clinic.

I was fortunate. Following an ultrasound and biopsy they determined it to be a benign mass. Since then I have developed 2 more lumps and various cysts. All are benign so far. I have routine bilateral breast ultrasounds every six months to ensure they haven't become malignant. It is so important to do self breast examinations. I know it's scary but it is worth it if it saves your life.
I do not ever want to receive money for doing this. At no point will I accept monetary gifts or gifts of any nature. If you wish to show your support there are organisations that accept donations and sell products.

I was saddened to hear of the death of Jane McGrath on Sunday morning 22 June 2008. Jane fought an 11 year battle with Cancer. Jane was the founder of The McGrath Foundation.
"The McGrath Foundation is committed to continuing Jane’s legacy by not only ensuring that young women are encouraged to be breast aware but by also continuing to raise the very valuable funds to support the placement of breast care nurses throughout rural and regional Australia to help women diagnosed with breast cancer, " - The McGrath Foundation.
If anyone wishes to make donations to her foundation which aims to raise funds to provide more breast care nurses throughout Australia and for more information please visit the website

I hope that this Support Pink - Australia page brings awareness to Australian women (and men) about Breast Cancer. I hope that this also provides a medium for survivors, newly diagnosed people, friends and family members to find support in others.
Please forward this page to all your myspace friends if you like.
Thank you and keep fighting
P.S Other Cancer fighters, survivors or friends and family are always welcome to this page.
