For the longest time, my family and I had the curiosity of knowing who my stepbrother was. We knew he was older than my oldest brother and a resident of Florida, but that's all that was known. My father didn't speak much about the issue since it brought a great deal of questioning towards him. In the year 2005, phone calls started arriving at my paternal grandfather's residence. Apparently, it was my stepbrother calling in efforts of gaining contact with his father... my father. My father was negligent at first and didn’t know how to tell us. This is understandable since the upbringing caused him a mixed of emotions. It was then that we, as a whole family, had to agree in allowing or denying his visit. This was my stepbrother's wish. At that moment, I couldn't speak immediately. I was astounded by the idea that finally I could meet my stepbrother. I guess everyone was feeling the same excitement and confusion like myself. On August 5, 2005 my family and I finally met my stepbrother... and his family! Yes! I'm Aunty Cris now. My stepbrother has two girls and one boy... they're so cute! Since then, things have shifted around in our house for the better. They still live in Florida, but both our families keep in touch. It's a great feeling! For this reason and many more, cherish your love ones to every bit of their soul!

THE BIBLE
GOD, my parents, grandma Petra, and two teachers (Mr. Gonzalez and Mrs. Bumguardner) from high school. Each individual taught me what I know today. Whether it was through scoldings or encouragement, they helped me see my inner strength and what I'm capable of achieving. My gratitude is unconditionally everlasting!
Not to forget, my two cousins! Tomas Garces (Dec. 17, 1984 - Sept. 6, 2004) who died defending our country in Iraq and his younger brother, Ruben Garces (Jul. 11, 1987 - Dec. 18, 2005), who also passed away and had many goals after graduation. I admire him because even after his brother's death, he kept himself strong in ways I could never. I love you guys forever!!!
