               In 2004 What started out as a high school dance team quickly evolved into one of the hottest dance teams based out of the Bronx . It all started with the vision of a talented young man named David Thomas, who at the young age of 15 was known as the best dancer in Truman High School. He then decided to expand his creativity and start his own urban dance group and gave them the name WE RUN THIS. With no help form any adults he took on the responsibility of a 12 member dance team. After sneaking around the school for a place to practice for a couple of months and practicing outside in the cold, A school safety agent named Francis Perez noticed the potential in the dance group and took on the role of coach. in that year WE RUN THIS took school dance competitions by storm,winning every competition they entered. The choreography was very complex and the music was a mixture of all kinds of songs, The team made sure to come up with creative concepts and themes which was something that was never done in school competitions before. As a whole the team would combine dance, acting and gymnastics into one captivating performance. The winning streak continued up until Davids gradation in 2007 when he was forced to remove the team from the school because he was no longer a student. But that did not stop the determination of the group. As a whole the group decided that they would become an independent dance team which would make them eligible to compete in street competitions. These were much harder than they thought. These types of competitions were pretty much anything goes. They were very tough and sometimes the judges decisions didn't matter as long as the crowd participation was excellent. The group was new to this type of thing because they were used to the precision and discipline of school competitions. They pretty much lost there first street competition but they quickly caught the eye of the CEO of the dance company URBAN DANCE ALLIANCE. It took some persuasion and almost the breakup of the group, but in the end WE RUN THIS made it. Now the group has expanded to 20 members most of them new comers from every borough in new york, with maybe 7 original members left the legacy continues. Now WE RUN THIS is one of hottest dance groups in New York City!
