Biographie : Formerly know as Shadow, Madus was formed in 2004 when Frank Dumas aka Madus (coined from a childhood friend) moved to Montreal. Recognized as a Canadian band who initially earned particular attention for their Ambient-Rap mix blended with a Space Rock style. Frank Dumas was originally a Hip-Hop mc from 1996 to 2001 on multiple music projects. Meanwhile, he was practicing on guitar and keyboard to improve his music skills and eventually take the production lead to propel a new kind of music project. The Madus project acquired a social ambition as much as musical. The compositions projected had to reflect social thoughts. After three solo Albums (2004 Late'n Light, 2005 My Own Way, 2007 El Candidato), bass player Eric "Koochee" Coutu joined Madus for the Abatou album (2008). His groove drove the Abatou song in such a way that Frank suggested to Koochee to help him on his music project. For 2009, the duo are trying a big come back under a new band name called Madus Project which will offer a generous taste of Ambient-Space Rock on an album appropriately called Sunshine on Desperate Eclipse. Frank Dumas continues to assure the lead on music composition and production but welcomes the influential ideas emanating from Koochee on music composition and mixing techniques. Album coming November 2009.Madus Project is a very original and powerful music band. The productions, creativity, and transcendental messages through this hypnotic music leaves the listener in a state of everlasting wonder of who we really are.
