Travis Payton began playing the drums at the age of five and has become a prominent figure in the music business. His playing styles include, but are not limited to: Gospel, R&B, Soul, Neo Soul, Rock, Reggae, Fusion and Jazz. Payton has become a true and dedicated percussionist of music and an emblem of his community.
Payton was born and raised in Lorain, Ohio in a two-parent household with two other siblings. He stood out because of his drumming ability. He began playing in the church and with his family's encouragement, he began to further his abilities as a drummer and musical director throughout the community and now, the world.
Payton has toured internationally with Too3K, nationally with gospel recording artists: Charles Woolfork and Covenant, Shadonna, Vision, and nationally with reggae sensations Outlaws I&I.
Payton has recorded under Robert Lockwood Jr.'s label and has had appearances on
B.E.T. He has also opened for gospel's national recording artists John P. Kee,
Mary Mary, and Commissioned.
