About Me

Hmm, where to begin? I am a trumpet player/composer/improviser and sometimes punk rock vocalist (sort of) based in Jersey City. I still consider myself a New Yorker, though, as most of my gigs are there. I was born and raised in Pelham NY and went to college on Long Island at Hofstra University, where I foolishly majored in music and wrote for the humor magazine on campus, Nonsense magazine. I am currently trying to make it as a musician, whatever that means anymore. My main project is Brilliant Coroners, a Thelonious Monk Cover band, that plays the compositions of Monk in a variety of styles, including punk, funk, heavy metal and techno. Take his music, and put it in a cuisinart, and you get the idea. Check out our band page! Link is below in my friends space.I also am involved in an improvised turntable duo called Dr. Benstock, a sit down comedy noise improv trio called phYsYcacKle, and am currently trying to write some large scale compositions, if I can ever tear myself away from the internet.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Anyone creative. Anyone who rocks. Winona Ryder. John Flansburgh. Anyone that can help me change my wardrobe. Female porn stars.

I waste too much time online

Mid life crisis time. Why do I waste so much time online? I 've got so many compositions and arrangements I need to write before I die. I mean, what the hell?

Myspace.com - my moment of Zen

Being on this is kinda strange. I've never associated with people with whom I have so much in common, but have never spoken to. Weird. ETA: I should clarify: it's fun. I'm just new to this whole meet ...

Promotion hell.

You know - it figures. I finally get my band page set up. And now I can't search for fans of Thelonious Monk.
