About Me

An Old school rocker that still thinks that 12 String based power rock ballads are awesome and believes that there is a valid place in music for my dream.....Been workin' on it for over 35 years and haven't thrown in the towel yet !!!
It all started when Bob Riley re-introduced me to a guitar and a friend in music class in the 7th grade showed me 3 chords and with that taught me how to play Bad Moon Rising by CCR and I was hooked! I had a 6 string electric peice of crap that I bought at a pawn shop for 5 dollars and NO amp!! I would practice for hours on end with the clock radio turn down and my left ear pressed to the guitar body so I could play along to early FM radio. This was how I taught myself how to play guitar.
I had always been influenced by the sounds of the 60's. I had an older sister that was a Beatles FREAK and there was always Beatles music coming from her room. I was intrigued at an early age with the melodic 12 string guitar work by George Harrison, "Here Comes The Sun" "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and The Byrds-Roger McGuinn "Turn, Turn, Turn" and "Mr. Tambourineman" And while Bob was slashing away on his Fender Strat in 1970 listening to Hendriks and developing his own unique style of lead guitar, I started leaning toward Accoustic guitar. James Taylor, Cat Stevens and Seals & Crofts type stuff but with my eyes on the rock side of the times.
Then came "Stairway To Heaven" and it literally changed my life and the entire worlds conception of rock music. It cofirmed my beliefs in 12 string power balled Rock & Roll. 1972 Bob and I met Fred Whitney and when "Houses of the Holy" was released Fred became infatuated with Robert Plants voice. He went on to collage and received his BAA in vocal performance arts. All three of us collaberated our song writing over the years and it really started to gain momentum when Fred came over to Germany and moved in with me in the late 80's. We were able to work everyday on new songs. Re-define and polish old ones and it was a magical time for us.
Released in 1995 with lifelong friends & fellow musicians Fred Whitney and Bob Riley,
"LEGACY - Take A Shot Of Life",
is a compilation of all the elements and aspects of the music that we had been creating over a span of 20 years. We teamed up with Phamous Phaces bassist Mike Trathen and drummer Ron Petty quite by accident and I'm convinced, spiritual design. Truly a magical time as the entire album (13 songs) were recorded, mixed and mastered in 14 days.....
Yes, that's right, 14 days from scratch. The drummer and bassist had never even heard a single song and we were hitting the "recording" button after one practice take almost every single time....magic.... How else can you record, mix and master 13 songs in 14 days?
The "LEGACY" site will soon be up so you can realize this special time with us...I am just soo very proud to be associated with the calibre of musicians that I am.. Thank you

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Honest, real, down to earth people that are also after their own dreams but not at the expense of others.
Other people that believe that mankind could live in peace and harmony and still hang on to a shred of individuality.
I have a laundry list of people that I would love to shake hands with but at the top are Paul McCartney, Jimmy Page, James Taylor, Joe Walsh and John McLaughlin.
Was fortunate enough to shake Mr. Taylors hand this April at a show here in Denmark!!
