About Me

I saw two shooting stars last night ... I wished on them but they were only satellites ...

My Interests

Spending quality time with the hubby and the four legged kids. Doing home improvement stuff. Catching decent shows at least a couple times a month. Taking road trips, kayaking, and going to the beach and parks.

I'd like to meet:

I'm here to keep in touch w/ people I already know. I'll only add a band if you're my friend or if you seriously whip ass and I want your tour date bulletins.

Music:

I'm a music junkie. Currently in heavy rotation : Anti-Flag, The Straight 8's, The Clash, Kill Hannah, Cigar Store Indians, Rancid, Crank County Daredevils, The Nekromantics, The Riverdales, Gen X and Bob Marley. I'm also LUUUUVING satellite radio because it suits my schizophrenic musical tastes. I f'n love this song : Candy Video Candy lyrics - Iggy Pop lyrics Iggy Pop Music Videos Music Video Codes by VideoCure

Movies:

I can only watch gore if its old enough to be in black and white and I know that they're using chocolate syrup. So that rules out most modern movies. Most of the stuff I end up watching is either a comedy, a cartoon, or was made more than 40 years ago.

Television:

So I'm going to come clean and admit that I have an addiction to total crap TV. Like I probably know waaay too much about Project Runway, Shear Genius, I Love New York, and who Anna Nicole's baby daddy is. In my defense I usually have to spend my days off alone while Scott is at work for 15 hours. I suppose I could take up needlepoint.

Books:

I'm on strike from reading because every book or magazine I've gotten in the past year has been about cancer - people who beat cancer, cancer research, cancer treatment, what to eat if you have cancer. If I read one more word about cancer I'll scream. So I've been watching I Love New York instead :)

Heroes:

My honey is my hero. When I got sick he didn't freak out and run - he stuck by my side and married a bald girl. He was there to hold my hand through every treatment. He kept our house together - did the shopping and the cleaning and the bill paying while taking care of me when I couldn't get out of bed. During the same time his mom was also hospitalized, and our dog was having seizures and going in and out of the hospital. All of this while keeping up with his shitty job that often makes him work 70 hours a week. I still don't know how he did it but I couldn't have made it without him. Oh yeah - and he squishes bugs for me and cleans up possums when they die on our front sidewalk :)

My Blog

long time no blog

Things got kind of rough for a little while and feel more comfortable talking about it now that it's better. The 2nd 3rd and 4th treatments of A/C made me very very sick. I went through 3 different an...

Update

So I've found that the week after chemo I'm feeling pretty normal. I only felt lousy for a little less than a week. It's kind of surreal to think that there is anything wrong with me. I've been e...

Chemo makes me retarded ...

So the side effects of the first chemo have been not so bad. I took anti-nausea meds for the first 3 days (never actually got sick), and now I'm back to eating normally. Well, okay, a little bit healt...

GOOD NEWS !!!

My doctor just called to tell me that the results of the PET scan were excellent!!! It hasn't spread anywhere - not even to lymph nodes. She said that the chemo will shrink it down so small that we ma...

No easy way to say it.

This might seem strange, but I 'm choosing to blog this to get it out in the open. Yesterday I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I'm still a little bit in shock. Some minutes I'm tough as nails and th...
