Shalée has been singing since she was a small child. She started as a member of the Redwood Children’s Chorus at the age of six and sang in choirs throughout her childhood. In high school she sang with a choir that earned two consecutive Mayor’s Command Performances as well as an honorary performance for the President of the Philippines. She has had much vocal training throughout the years studying at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Seth Riggs’ Studio, UCLA, and the studio of Andrew Boettner amongst others. At age seventeen, she started gigging with local San Francisco bands doing various lead and background singing before moving on to do original showcases in the Los Angeles area. After participating in the Miss Paramount Beauty Pageant she was later requested as spotlighted entertainment for the Pageant two years in a row.
Shalée started working as a professional lead vocalist in 1995, in the Los Angeles area in Top 40 and R&B bands working nightclubs and private functions including a party for Access Hollywood. She has also spent some time doing overseas gigs. Recently, Shalée has been working in the Las Vegas area with local Top 40 bands, convention/corporate events, and participating in original recording projects. Some Las Vegas hotel gigs include opening act for Frankie Avalon (New Year’s Eve 2001), various private parties, as well as numerous lounge gigs at Aladdin, Suncoast, Marriott, Goldcoast, Orleans, Monte Carlo, Riviera, Golden Nugget, and Stardust hotels.
