About Me

Split Pea/ce formed in the fall of 2007 performing poetry and musi in Cleveland, Ohio. Mike Marcellino reads (or sings, however you look at it) his poetry and Abe Olvido plays electric or acoustic guitar, drums and yes, a typewriter.Split Pea/ce has played in Cleveland at Visible Voice Books in the Tremont, Global Feast at the Zen Sculpture Garden in the Waterloo Arts District, Macs Backs bookstore on Coventry and The Barking Spider, a very cool spot for music of all kinds seven nights a week at University Circle in the heart of the campus of Case Western Reserve University. Split Pea/ce was also invited to be a part of the Cleveland 100 which showcased experimental and new acts throughout the region. Five songs from a July 26, 2008 show at The Barking Spider and one song from the Peabodys show are now up on Myspace.Split Pea/ce plans to do more studio recording and come out with a CD soon.In November 2007, Mike read his poetry at Cornelia Street Cafe in Greenwich Village and ABC NO RIO on the Lower East Side in New York City.
