The Acoustic Lounge at the Turberville Hotel, Llanharan is a monthly event which brings together acoustic artists and an appreciative audience. Started in 2007 the venue is building a reputation for a good night out with an informal atmosphere and opportunity to hear acoustic artists from the South Wales region. Held on the first Tuesday of each month, the The Acoustic Lounge is hosted by local band Ramblin Round and offers an open mike session for visiting performers. [email protected] Turberville is easy to get to and can be found directly opposite the new railway station at Llanharan. Its 20 minutes from Cardiff and 15 minutes from Bridgend by rail. The pub can be seen from the platforms. For road links it is midway between Llantrisant (Jct 34) and Pencoed (Jct 35) M4 exits on the A473.The Acoustic Lounge is also the name of an intimate recording space operated by Dave Adamson. Specialising in recording solo acoustic artists or small folk ensembles the emphasis is on working with the artist to find the sound they want. The artist is always in charge.
