Comenzó sus estudios de música en Rochester, New York a los 14 años. En Mexico continua sus estudios de piano clásico. Mas adelante viaja a Austin, Texas, donde su estancia por 2 años se complementa con el estudio y el trabajo, ademas comienza a incursionar en el ambiente jazzistico. En 1990 tomó clases con el profesor Leopoldo González. En 1992 conoce a la cantante y actriz Lucero, convirtiéndose en su director musical hasta la fecha. En 1999 formó parte del grupo Jazztlan, y graban su primer album. Ha acompañando a un sinnúmero de artistas tales como: Néstor Torres (Puerto Rico), Marcia Cabral (Brasil), Carmina Canavino (Perú).Y en el area del Pop a:
Lucero, Rocio Durcal, Francisco Céspedes, etc. Participó en la obra de teatro Amor sin barreras. En el 2003 forma el grupo de jazz GRS y en el 2006 graban su primer disco llamado Sin rumbo (GRS). En el 2003 Radio Francia selecciono el tema “Espero tu llamada†de Carlos Gallegos del disco Jazztlan para formar parte de una compilacion discografica de musica mexicana de varios generos titulado "Les musiques du Mexique" al lado de artistas como Eugenia Leon, El Mariachi Vargas, etc. para promocionarlo a nivel mundial. ************************************************************
** ENGLISH VERSION Carlos Gallegos started his musical studies in Rochester, New York, at the age of 14. Back in Mexico, he continues his studies of classical piano. Further on, he travels to Austin, Texas, where he study and works, but also he starts to get involved in jazz environment during his 2 years stay. In 1990 he took lessons with Professor Leopoldo González.
In 1992 he meets Lucero, a well renowned actress and singer, becoming his musical director, until today. In 1999 when he was part of the group Jazztlan they recorded their first album. He has played with different artists like: Néstor Torres (Puerto Rico), Marcia Cabral (Brazil), Carmina Canavino (Peru). And in the Pop scene also, like: Lucero, Rocio Durcal, Francisco Céspedes, etc. In theater he participated in the play “West Side Storyâ€.
In year 2003 he formed the group GRS and in 2006 they record their first album: “Sin rumbo†(GRS).
In year 2003 Radio Francia chooses the theme “Espero tu llamada†by Carlos Gallegos from the record Jazztlan to make it part of a discography compilation about representative Mexican music of different genres entitled “Les musiques du Mexique†in which theme appears next to artists like Eugenia Leon, El Mariachi Vargas, etc. and it gets promoted world wide.
