Damn! Aside from the ones I create in my head, hehe, there are just too many favorites to choose from! In no particular order: Forrest Gump, Good Will Hunting, 12 Monkeys, Hackers, Anchorman, Lost in Translation, High Fidelity, I Heart Huckabees, Coupe de Ville, Last Samurai, V for Vendetta, Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Braveheart, Spider-man, Star Wars, Back to the Future, The Lion King, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Aladdin, Diary of a Mad Black Woman (Tyler Perry kicks ass!) Eddie Murphy's Delirious, Contact, Blow, Goodfellas, Godfather 1 & 2 and most of Woody Allen's films, to name a few. I know, I'm getting carried away...but over and above the box office hits and the cult classics, foreign as well as Quebec films are where I have often found my heart. Ex: Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulin, City of God, Motorcycle Diaries, Hable con ella, Frida, Les Invasions Barbares, Maurice Richard, La Vita e Bella, Johnny Stecchino, Il Postino, Ciao Professore, Cinema Paradiso, etc...."Mr. Burgundy, you have a massive erection!"
Whatever I manage to watch on satellite; cable is dead my friends. Ex: Simpsons, Family Guy, Everybody Loves Raymond, Seinfeld re-runs (they never get old!) TLC, Pilot Guides...but nothing religiously except for hockey!!!
Love a good book. I've enjoyed the works of authors Alain de Botton, James Redfield, Paolo Coelho and more recently Mitch Albom, Peter Carey, David Suzuki, Gabrielle Bauer and Candace Savage. Honourable mentions also go out to David Browne for his bio-book on my dream brother, Jeff Buckley. And, of course, Shakespeare, whoever he may have been, as well as the many 17th century writers / poets because they were true geniuses clearly ahead of their time.
My grandfather. He was a proud man, a model to live by.
