About Me

"We are always most vulnerable when we're in transition." Sensei told me this, along with many other pearls of wisdom. But transition is necessary for growth and growth is necessary for life. Why is transition important now? For one thing, anger over injustice has ruled my life - from a personal level to the world at large, I have sought to avenge the abusers. The time has come, however, to realize that I cannot slay all the dragons at once simply by hating them and punishing myself with cruel thoughts, and finding peace of mind in sweet Southern Comfort. Time to make my world smaller. Red Ryder sang - "We won't let you kill the laughter". So, no more raging over politics. Reason tells me that we are in for treacherous times. America will be bloodied once again, worse than in 2001. I can't stop this, so, as Hendrix sang, "Fall mountains - just don't fall on me". Economic times are about to worsen. I'm about to thrive. Pink Floyd - "Keep your hands off-a my stash!" There is reason in this world, along with incredible beauty. Shiny little faces of my grandchildren. Watching the farm animals play and groom one another. Goldfish in the pool. Even the stiff winter wind in my face reminds me I'm alive. I'll be trading in all the facts I thought I knew, for some deep perplexing questions to ponder. Eric Burden sang," My faith was so much stronger then, I believed in fellow men. And I was so much older then - when I was young." So in transition I will witness much discord, tough times and more abuses. But I will also have peace of mind, clarity of thought and love in my heart. And when my time comes to leave this world, I pray that it will come as I'm enriching the life of another.
