MERCCI's stage career began with her childhood dance troupe in Miami Florida at venues such as The Dade County Youth Fair, south Miami malls, the Metrorail, schools and people's front yards. Born into a family of Argentinian folklore guitarrists, live music and singing were always big things in the household. It was her undying love of the streets and her barrio however, where a deep passion for rap, soul and reggae developed. At 14 she moved to Milan, Italy and 4 years later landed the home of Guinness and rock and roll, Dublin. It was in Ireland where MERCCI met reggae producer and dj Dreadzilla, who she formed the band Insurgente with. After completing a degree in English and Drama at Trinity College, Spain's prolific flamenco culture beckoned this latina's roots where recordings of Spanish reggae tunes alongside Marisa Herrera (LA FLACA DE JEREZ), acclaimed gypsie vocalist, commenced. Mcing with the Rebel Lion Sound System and fronting Dreadzilla's band Insurgente paved the way for numerous European festivals until Jamaican producer "Worm" took notice of MERCCI in summer of 2008. Brought to Kingston to record by the Jah Birth New Limited record label, MERCCI's Jamaican single "COME BACK" is already taking the island by storm.
