Carlo Marzo

Nato ad Acquarica del Capo (LE), fin da giovanissimo si è dedicato allo studio degli strumenti a percussione qualificandosi nel settore con molteplici esperienze professionali. Ha conseguito gli studi musicali presso il Conservatorio di Musica “Tito Schipa” di Lecce sotto la guida del M° Fulvio Panico, diplomandosi con il massimo dei voti e la lode in strumenti a percussione. Successivamente si laurea in Didattica dell’Insegnamento Strumentale presso il Conservatorio di Musica “N. Rota” di Monopoli ed anche in Discipline Musicali indirizzo Interpretativo - Compositivo presso il Conservatorio di Musica “Tito Schipa” di Lecce con 110/110 e Lode.
Si rivolge presto allo studio delle percussioni etniche con insegnanti del calibro di Stefano Rossini, Arnaldo Vacca, Massimo Carrano, Louis Agudo, Robertinho Silva, Giovanni Imparato, Glen Velez, Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez.
Nel corso della sua carriera ha collaborato, tra gli altri, con: PAOLO BELLI, FRANCESCO BACCINI, RICCARDO COCCIANTE, MASSIMO RANIERI, GIANNA NANNINI, GIGI D'ALESSIO, ANDREA BOCELLI, ANTONELLA RUGGIERO, ANNA TATANGELO, RON, RICK MARGITZA, AL BANO CARRISI, POOH, RENZO ARBORE, PEPPINO DI CAPRI, FABIO CONCATO, MATIA BAZAR, LUCA LAURENTI, EDOARDO VIANELLO, IRIO DE PAULA, HECTOR ULISES PASSARELLA, MASSIMO CARRANO, ROBERTINHO SILVA, GILSON SILVEIRA, STEFANO ROSSINI BATUQUE PERCUSSION, ZEDUARDO MARTINS, ARTHUR MILES, PERCUSONIDO, CHROMATIC PERCUSSION ACADEMY.
Vanta numerose collaborazioni con prestigiose orchestre, tra le quali: Orchestra dell’Università degli Studi di Lecce, Orchestra del Teatro Paisiello, Orchestra della Fondazione I.C.O. ”Tito Schipa” di Lecce, Orchestra del Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari (in occasione della prima esecuzione Europea dell’African Oratorio trasmesso in diretta da Rai International), Orchestra Sinfonica di Pesaro, Orchestra Inter-Universitaria di Lecce e Parma,
Ha collaborato con compositori quali Louis Bacalov (Oscar per le musiche de “Il Postino”) e illustri direttori d’orchestra come il M° Riccardo Muti, M° Massimo Quarta, M°Aldo Ceccato. Ha composto alcuni brani per l’ensemble “Percusonido” che compaiono sul primo cd della formazione “Suoni della Terra”.
E’ stato più volte membro di orchestre in programmi televisivi di Rai, Mediaset, MTV, Sky (Art Festival 2005, Fiorello “Stasera Pago Io – Revolution”, “La Corrida”, 46° Oscar TV, 47° Oscar TV, 38° Premio Barocco, Orange Camp, 48° Premio Regia Televisiva, 49° Premio Regia Televisiva, 39° Premio Barocco) ed ha partecipato a numerosi festival jazz e di musica etnica tra i quali “Festival Interceltique du Lorient” (Francia), “Villa Celimontana jazz Festival” Roma, “Perdonanza Celestiniana” L’Aquila, “Isola Folk” Bergamo, “Festival Itinerario Brasile” Frascati, “Locomotive jazz Festival” Sogliano Cavour.
In campo teatrale ha collaborato con “Terrammare Teatro”.
Insegna percussioni presso scuole statali e private, è docente e responsabile per la Puglia della cattedra di Batteria delle “Scuderie Capitani” e coordinatore nazionale della “Percussion Academy”.
Tiene Corsi di Aggiornamento, Seminari e Masterclass per insegnanti, studenti, musicisti.
Come formatore ha all’attivo importanti collaborazioni nell’ambito della Formazione Aziendale con prestigiosi marchi come: Coca Cola, Mc Donalds, Telecom, Nestlè, Fastweb, Hilti, Sara Assicurazioni, ecc…
Attualmente è endorser BOXY, UFIP, DRUM ART, NOTAK. Per la Ufip suona come dimostratore alla Musik Messe 2006 a Francoforte.
BIOGRAPHY:
He was born in Acquarica del Capo (Lecce – Italy). Since he was very young he devoted himself to the study of percussion instruments, qualifying himself in this field with many professional experiences. He has got his musical studies at the “Tito Schipa” Academy of Music in Lecce under Maestro Fulvio Panico‘s guidance, graduating with honours. Afterwards he took a degree in didactic of teaching at the “N. Rota” Conservatoire of Monopoli (BA) and in Musical Disciplines with interpretative trend at the “Tito Schipa” Academy of Music in Lecce with honours.
He soon turn himself to the study of ethnical percussions with teachers of the level of Stefano Rossini, Arnaldo Vacca, Massimo Carrano, Louis Agudo, Giovanni Imparato, Glen Velez, Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, Robertinho Silva.
During his career he has collaborated, among others, with PAOLO BELLI, FRANCESCO BACCINI, RICCARDO COCCIANTE, MASSIMO RANIERI, GIANNA NANNINI, GIGI D'ALESSIO, ANDREA BOCELLI, ANTONELLA RUGGIERO, ANNA TATANGELO, RON, AL BANO CARRISI, POOH, RENZO ARBORE, PEPPINO DI CAPRI, FABIO CONCATO, MATIA BAZAR, LUCA LAURENTI, EDOARDO VIANELLO, RICK MARGITZA, IRIO DE PAULA, HECTOR ULISES PASSARELLA, ROBERTINHO SILVA, MASSIMO CARRANO, ARNALDO VACCA, GILSON SILVEIRA, STEFANO ROSSINI BATUQUE PERCUSSION, ZEDUARDO MARTINS, ARTHUR MILES, PERCUSONIDO, CHROMATIC PERCUSSION ACADEMY.
He boasts numerous collaborations with prestigious orchestras, among whom: University of Lecce Orchestra, Paisiello Theatre Orchestra, Foundation I.C.O. Tito Schipa of Lecce Orchestra, Petruzzelli Theatre Orchestra of Bari (on the occasion of the first European performance of the African Oratorio shot in live broadcast from R.A.I. International), Simphony orchestra of Pesaro, Inter-University Orchestra of Lecce and Parma.
He collaborated with composers such as Louis Bacalov (Oscar for the music of “Il Postino”) and with eminent conductors like Maestro Riccardo Muti, Maestro Aldo Ceccato. He composed some pieces for “Percusonido” ensemble which appear in the first band’s cd “Suoni della terra” (Earth’s Sounds), appreciated and also included in the concert’s program of percussionists of the theatre “Alla Scala” in Milano.
Many times he has been a member of some orchestras within television programmes at R.A.I., Mediaset, MTV and Sky (Art Festival 2005, Fiorello “Stasera Pago Io – Revolution”, “La Corrida”, 46° Oscar TV, 47° Oscar TV, 38° Premio Barocco, Orange Camp, 48° Premio Regia Televisiva, 39° Premio Barocco, 49° Premio Regia Televisiva) and he has taken part in some numerous jazz and ethnical festivals: “Festival Interceltique du Lorient” (Francia), “Villa Celimontana jazz Festival” Roma, “Perdonanza Celestiniana” L’Aquila, “Isola Folk” Bergamo, “Festival Itinerario Brasile” Frascati, “Locomotive jazz Festival” Sogliano Cavour (LE).

He teaches percussions at the Public Middle School and at many private schools, he is teacher and person in charge for Puglia (Italy) of the “ Scuderie Capitani” drums chair and national coordinator of “Percussion Academy”.
He held some refresher courses, Seminars and Masterclass for teachers, students and musicians.
As teacher he has important collaborations to his credit in the sphere of business training with prestigious marks like: Coca Cola, Mc Donalds, Telecom, Nestlè, Fastweb, Hilti, Sara Assicurazioni, ecc…
