Vivendo nel quotidiano con un “vero” compositore, in questi anni ho potuto apprendere vari aspetti della musica “colta”. In passato ho creato musica senza afferrare ciò che stessi facendo realmente. Le mie melodie erano poco chiare (in termini musicali) e si muovevano attorno al genere pop con sonorità “ibride” di varie culture. Dico “poco chiare” perché creavo ignorando “i principi” della musica popolare legata alle ritmiche di danza e poesia. Grazie alle spiegazioni e al supporto negli arrangiamenti mio marito Markelian ho potuto coltivare le mie capacità continuando a creare musica semplice, ma con più coscienza musicale, abbellendola con armonie e ritmiche analizzate e curate con attenzione. Ho sempre amato l’ascolto del Jazz ma non ho mai pensato di avvicinarmi ad esso come cantante in un contesto di produzione. Ultimamente sto prendendo familiarità con le note Blue. Ma non solo, sto scoprendo le sonorità modali delle culture Medio Orientali, così lontane dalla nostra tradizione musicale Europea ma allo stesso tempo, così vicine alla nostra realtà d’ integrazione sociale.
Nell’ultimo periodo ho composto una serie di canti polifonici valorizzando e fondendo influssi sonori del Jazz uniti alle atmosfere folcloristiche di diverse tradizioni popolari e tribali. Durante questo nuovo percorso d’apprendimento musicale, ho messo in atto un approccio più coscienzioso di fare musica. I nuovi brani che sto realizzando portano in sé risonanze ed intonazioni delle Indie, ritmiche orientali come il "Baladi" e il "Malfouf", reminiscenze del "Bembè" africano, proseguendo con il tipico sound afrocubano della "Clave" e del "Son Montuno" concludendo, con i caratteristici timbri brasiliani del "Surdo" e della "Quica". Questo criterio di creare musica, pone un’alta cognizione nei confronti di questi generi musicali, di conseguenza, richiede estremo rigore durante lo svolgimento dell’arrangiamento. Nel mio caso la faccenda si è complicata quando ho scelto di fare a meno della sezione ritmica avvalendomi soltanto delle voci. In questo caso, le voci si sono prese carico (oltre a svolgere il carattere melodico) anche della funzione di ritmare le melodie fungendo in questo caso, da base ritmica. L’esito di questo sforzo mi ha portata a raggiungere risultati difficoltosi ma soddisfacenti. I brani sono cantati in varie lingue come: all pulaar, swahili (africane), francese, inglese, spagnolo, portoghese, albanese o con parole onomatopeiche che imitano le varie percussioni e le armonie.
Le voci, in questo progetto, s’ ispirano alle atmosfere del Jazz. Attualmente stiamo preparando il coro.

Polyphonic Choir In Clave of Yama Jsmael
Living day bay day with a "real" composer like my husband Markelian I have been able to learn varius aspects of the "cultured" music in these last years. I used to create music without entirely grasping what I was doig. My melodies were poorly clear (in musical terms), and they somewhat rotated around the Pop genre with "hybrid" sonorities acqured from dissimilar cultures. I say "poorly clear" because I created music ignoring "the principles" of the Popular music bound to the rythmics of dance and poetry. Thanks to Mark's explanations and support given to the arrangements, I have been able to cultivate my skills, carrying on creatingsimple music. However with more awareness, beautifying it with harmonies and rythmics, which have been analysed and treated with consciousness. I have always loved listeing to jazz but I had never thought of getting acquainted with it as a singer in a music production context. Lately I've been getting familiar with Blues Notes Too.Furthermore, I am discovering the 'modal sonorities' deriving from the Middle East cultures, that are so far from our European musical tradition, yet at the same time, so close to our social integration reality.
Recently I have composed a series of polyphonic song, appreciating and merging sonoric influences of Jazz adjoined to the Folkloristic scents, obtained from diverse Popular and Tribal music. During this learning journey in the world of music, I have applied a more conscientious approach to making it. The new songs I am working on, embody resonances and intonations of Indies, the Oriental rythmics like the "Baladi" and the "Malfouf" reminiscences of the African "Bembe", proceeding with the typical Afro- Cuban sound of the "Clave" and the " Son Montuno", culminating with the characteristic Brasilian timbers of the "Surdo" and the " Quica". This criteria of music creation demands a deep perception of these music genres - therefore, it implies inflexibility when making the arrangements. In my case the metter became convoluted when I decided to do without the rhythmic part, obtaining support exclusively from the voices. Therefore, the latter not only had the burden (in addition to supporting the melodic aspect) of attuning the melodies, but also had the purpose of being the rhythmic base too. The consequence of this effort allowed me to accomplish arduous results nevertheless- gratifying ones. The songs are sung in diverse lenguages like : All Pulaar, Swahili (African), French, English, Spanish, Albanese or onomatopoeic words which emulate the various percussions and harmonies.
In this project the voices gain inspiration from the Jazz atmosfheres. Currently we are preparing the choir.
