Pitango-The Quartet was founded in 2003 by four Israeli classical musicians .In September 2003 Pitango held a tour in Spain which included a performance at the "Clamores" theater in Madrid. In July 2004 they held a concert tour in Argentina (Buenos Aires, Corrients, Santa Fe and Parana) and were the recipients of an award by the "Mano Blanca" museum. In June 2005 they performed in the Israel Festival with the major production "Tango Sin Fronteras" with many guest artists from Israel and Argentina. Pitango has concert series of performances in the main concert halls of Israel such as Sherover Hall in Jerusalem and venues in Givatayim and Yagur, and has held a series with the Kibbutz Chamber Orchestra. In addition the quartet accompanies Milongas in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and participates in different festivals. The quartet has participated in an intensive Tango course at the "Casa Del Tango", in Argentina. They have trained with prominent bandoneon masters Efrain Scheinfeld and Raul Jaurena. Pitango's two previous recordings received enthusiastic reviews and have been broadcasted on radio stations across Israel, Spain, Argentina and the U.S.A. (Radio Libertad, Radio Cibeles, Radio Intercontinental, WQXR, Radio Splendid and Radio Ciudad.) The quartet has performed on Israeli Television several times.
