His unique and witty flow, bombards listeners with constant punch lines and metaphors. His style can be compared to many, but he insists that he is self made. T.Hailes “ I’m not influenced by one single rapper, rather the rap game as a whole” “I’m just trying to find my own lil nitche in a haystack” . However you want to look at it, it is evident that T.Hailes stands alone when compared to others. His raw explicit flow, is often felt as well as heard by listeners, fans, and especially family and friends those who know his struggle most.Struggle:Born to Mary Ann Hailes September 12, 1979 in Portsmouth, VA; T.Hailes was no stranger to struggle. Raised in the projects of Jeffrey Wilson a.k.a “J-Dubb” and Lincoln Park a.k.a“ Stinkin Lincoln, Hailes learned to grow up real fast. “My mom was never around!” ”I mean she was young herself, she basically raised me till I was like 5, then it was like I was all on my own, straight up, the hood raised me, that’s real talk!.” In 1989 at the age 9 Hailes’ mother got locked up for 10 years for selling heroin to an undercover cop. The next 4 years Hailes would bounce around from family members, to friends, in and out of foster homes and ultimately end up in the custody of the state. “ Man those were some rough times, seriously!” “ I endured a lot of physical, mental and verbal abuse.” “I can’t lie though I was a lil bad ass, ignorant and thought I knew it all.” Hailes would eventually land in a place called the VA Home For Boys in 1993. A place where he says his writing skills were honed. “I felt like I had no one to vent to.” “Where I was from showing your emotions got you hurt quick!” So I wrote, cuz I really didn’t feel comfortable talking about it.” A lot of people may view Hailes situation as sad, he however insists that it was a blessing in disguise. “Before the Boys Home I was a young black ignorant male from the hood, and the street mentality was all I knew.” “Through special guidance (and medication, lol) I was able to not only get a excellent education, but also play football on scholarship at Hampton University.” Its this that Hailes says sets him apart. “I have lived the best of both worlds, because not only was I raised by the streets until I was 13 and seen and did a lot of ,excuse my French, but shit.” “I was able to get a taste of the corporate world and ‘White America’ through the Boys Home, which was located smack dead in a middle to upper class area.” "It opened my mind, helped let me know and understand that there is a whole other world out there." Hailes put all of his energy into sports, and excelled, winning all types of awards and accolades in both highschool and college. "Football was special to me, because it taught me a lot of valuable lessons that prepare me for this industry, such as hard work ethics, responsibility, accountability, and also how to sell myself as not only a person but athlete as well in high school I had to sell my self and my talents to the college scouts and in college i had to do the same to the pro scouts." Although T.Hailes excelled at sports, he still found time to perfect his writing and rapping skills performing in college at open mic sessions, local parties and clubs." "Everybody knew me as T.Hailes the football player, but they also knew me for my MC skills as well." There is world of art all around us, and like a artist, a picture is painted in every song created by T.Hailes. He isn’t simply “spittin” or rapping, he’s painting a picture of his life. You can hear, and even feel the pain in his voice, as he gives you his deepest feelings and expressions with utmost honesty and humility. “I just want to tell my life story! I feel like a lot of kids and even adults, who may be or have been in similar situations, can relate, and vibe to my music. I want people to look at me and see and realize that no matter what situation they are in that anything is possible.”Possible:With T.Hailes’ unique style, and talented flow anything is possible. He is currently in the studio working on his debut album which is yet to be named. He can be seen performing locally in Orlando at spots such as “A.K.A. Lounge”, “ Club Screamers”, “UCF”, and more yet to come.
