The Date was March 17th 2007. The venue was the Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles, CA. The moment, when a room of over 500 rock aficionados erupt into thunderous applause putting their unanimous stamp of approval on Metal College. A band that deliverers on the spirit and skill that 80’s Rock music was written for.
Comprised of lead vocalist John Yager, lead guitarist/vocalist Matt Rekart, Bassists Mike Szot, and Drummer Sal Monaco Metal College is known for pushing out righteous riffs that rip with emotion, skill and a love for Hard Rock music that has earned them respect in the music scene all the way from Chicago to LA.
Delivering sound reminiscent of the aggression and raw emotion that 80’s Rock has given to the music scene Metal College is aggressive and high energy.
“Our band mission is to deliver a high energy 80’s Rock experience that cover’s from ACDC to Yngwie J. Malmsteen”, says lead singer John Yager.
With a commitment to their personal definition of success, which they define as: “the ability to share their music with as many people as possible”, Metal College has been sharing its sound with thousands across the Midwest. Their many successful public appearances include: The Whisky A Go Go, 115 Bourbon Street, NBGC Summer Fest, Cicero Fest, Chicago City Limits, and North Beach to name a few.
“The feedback we’ve received from each live performance has reinforced our belief that our sound is delivering something special to our audience,” says Lead Guitarist Matt Rekart.
Featuring over 3 hours of 80’s rock songs that appeal to the wide cross set of age groups that make up the rock and metal audience; Metal College is already causing much buzz.
