Black Peter Group are a New York/ London based band which was formed in 2005 by multi media artist Gio Black Peter. They make booty bass electro. What does this mean ? Nothing . Because they don't let labels restrict them from making hits like "It's Fucked Up!", which is a fusion of hillbilly 2-step and punk. Or for that matter "Cake" which has a 50's inspired pop track sweetly layed over hip hop rhymes.
Black Peter Group has been around the globe with their "Flesh Show" tour. From New Yorks infamous Ruff Club, Miss Shapes, Kill Whitey parties to Londons notorious All You Can Eat, Nuke Them All, Trailer Trash & Collapsing New People parties. They've also showed the kids at fancyHIM (Tokyo), the Pop In (Paris), Cabaret Furie (Paris), Torino SUPERM (Italy), Galleri S.E. (Norway), Los Ninos (Belgium) & Suck My Sound (Berlin) how to party just like they did back in "old" New York City. Back to a time when NYC was a colorful place covered with beautiful graffitti and every night out was a guaranteed adventure. And it does'nt stop there. They have also performed at the Bergan National Academy of the Arts in Norway, Berliniale Film Festival in Berlin, Show Studio in London, the Super Super Fashion Show 08 in London & The John Conelly Gallery in New York.
BPG are currently working with producer Andrew Friendly on their highly anticipated first EP "It's Fucked Up!" scheduled to be released in 2008 by Gulp Communications. You can also see front man Gio Black Peter in canadian cult director Bruce LaBruce's new film "Otto, or Up with Dead People" (2008). Black Peter Group have been featured in I.D. Magazine (dec 07), Super Super Magazine (07-08), K48 Magazine (march07), Pavement Magazine (06), Misshapes Book, Cake magazine Issue5, TETU Magazine (May 08) BUTT, Zoo (aug08) Amsterdam & Slava Mogutin's "NYC Go-Go".
