Ilya was born in a modest city called Tashkent in Uzbekistan (for a better sense of direction -- it's north of Afghanistan). Due to the evergrowing hatred against his People, he and his broad family had fled to the Holy Land in late 1990. They have eventually settled in the small town of Ashdod, which had a surprisingly great amount of Russian-speaking immigrant dwellers. That is where he had spent most of his childhood and early adulthood.
In 1999 he had adopted the alias DJiK and in the year 2000, his family got an opportunity for a brighter future in the rich U. S. of A.. The choice that stood before him, thus holding fate in his hands, was between the cold and heartless New York--where some of his family resides to this day--and warm and sunny Los Angeles of which he knew so much from his favorite shows and movies "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air," "90210," and "Clueless." His decision was immediate and definite.
And so, in the warm winter towards the end of 2000, Ilya had stepped on American soil for the first time at the Los Angeles International Airport.
