Laura

Laura is a 25 year old singer song writer living on the south coast of England. She embarked on her first studio time at the age of 15 playing along to a song she wrote on an old Yamaha keyboard. It wasn’t until she was 18 that she first picked up a guitar – being self taught this plays second fiddle to Laura’s voice.A love of performing was expressed at a young age enabling Laura to have blossomed into an adaptive and intuitive musician who knows not to take herself too seriously and to enjoy the organic nature of jamming with friends and strangers alike.Whether it is round a fire on the beach or at a festival, Laura’s enthusiasm never fails to provide the catalyst provoking the essence that makes live music so special.A childhood enriched with the sounds of artists such as pink floyde, Bowie, madness and roger waters paved the way for an obsessive love of music. From then on the floodgates were opened and Laura began to follow a more personal path; black crows, morcheeba, jack Johnson, Carole king and john butler trio can all be heard blasting out of Laura’s stereo, this is to name but a few from a cd collection that would make any audiophile jealous!Laura also draws her musical inspiration from a wonderful array of like minded friends who bring to the mix influences as far as traditional African right through to drum and Bass. Immersed in rich rhythms and melodies Laura produces her own unique style.When she’s not performing herself then you’ll find her supporting bands around Bournemouth; you can guarantee she will be leading the singing and yelling up front whilst working up a proper boogie sweat!An overwhelming desire to share her passion has led Laura down the home studio path. Armed with a mic and a digi recorder she has begun lovingly cutting some tracks, not without a self confessed lack of the knowledge on the subject!Please take a listen and drop Laura a line.
