About Me

There is something about going to a concert and feeling the percussive "boom" that seems to hypnotically move people to dance and shake to the music. When I was little, I wanted to be the guy that played the "big guitar that went BOOM!". Well, twenty-two years later from the day I got my first bass, here I am, laying down bass lines in all sorts of venues, providing that "boom" that moved me so much. The radio in the good ol' days wasn't as formatted as it is today, and as a result, I was exposed to a variety of Rock, Pop, R&B and Country that shaped my playing to this day. I took special note of bass players like Chuck Rainey (Steely Dan), Dee Murray (Elton John), Anthony Jackson (Ojays, Chaka Khan), Paul McCartney (some band called the Beatles) and Pino Palladino (Crystal Burgh, Don Henley, multiple sessions), Will Lee (Late Show, big session player) and from them developed an ear and style that enables me to play the right part for the song.Think of it like a painting: On the canvas you behold the focus, the masterpiece, yet around the canvas there is a beautiful frame- ideally appropriate and supportive of the focus. My bass parts are creative, at times melodic and exciting, and with enough "boom" to hopefully get someone's booty out of their chair!I've toured on both U.S. coasts in a couple of bands, recorded singer / songrwriter sessions and done a couple of jingles. I look forward to continuing my musical endevours, and hope to play with some great people in the future!
