My interest in language is the basis for my profession as a linguist. I'm generallyinterested in how a person's knowledge of language is a product of both nurture (youlearn the language you hear growing up) and nature (EVERYONE learnslanguage). More specifically, I'm interested in the first things that a child saysand what that has to say about what we learn and what we're born knowing.
I like studying sound. I'm more interested in studying the sounds of speech than other sounds, e.g., music, but, like most musicians, I have a general interest in acoustics.
My interest in spirituality is the result of growing up in a Christian home. I believe my parents raised me well, and I couldn't have helped but to reflect on what they consider such an important part of life. Recently, however, I have given up my faith as a Christian. See my blog if you want to know why.
I am currently active in one sport: climbing .
If you're interested in any of these things, send me an email!
Pornographers, people looking to make money off of me, thieves, and perverts (I'm really 12 years old and VERY naïve!)
Purpletraitor , Winfield , DJ Deeko , Symfonik Plague , & Paula B
In addition to being fine musicians, the people above are also personal freinds
Most of the time I listen to music without words. It suits a schedule dominated by studying. I love listening to music on Soma FM . Check them out!
Here's some of the more recent movies I've seen:
What have YOU been watching???
I love The Simpsons , Firefly and recently finished Basilisk . Anime tragedy? Who knew?
This summer I finished Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Harry Potter 1, and Mansfield Park. Currently, I'm reading a book on doing statistics with SAS and Richard Dawkin's The God Delusion.
I love photography, and here are some of my favorite photographers: Andy . This shot was taken in the Gallup High School parking lot, probably 10 years ago.
Julie Siddiqi
Julie took this picture when we visited the Elgin winery. A fun trip, but I like the Callaghan Winery better.
Last but not least is my Dad. He's been shooting landscapes and flowers for years, but I only started becoming interested in his pictures after I left for college. At any rate, the picture below comes from a trip he, my Mom, and I made to Macchu Picchu in 2000.
