I have many interests. I can honestly say that I dont generally enjoy the outdoors. But if i have to be outdoors, i would prefer to be at a Renaissance Faire. I go to one at least once a year. The other place I love to spend my time at is a convention. I go to several a year, depending on my money situation. Mostly I spend my time reading lots and lots, or doing stuff I dont necessarily like to do, like work and exercise. I like to sleep and eat though, so thats nice.I love to be with my friends. In just about any situation. Whether it be playing scrabble or catchphrase, or just sitting around. we eat out a lot, and movies are a must 'cause my friends are infallibly the funniest people I know. Ah, witty comments, how they warm my soul.
I've aready met some pretty nifty people, starting with my best friends. I hope I don't need to list them, they should know who they are, and if they don't they should contact me so I can make a list to clarify the situation. I would really like to meet James Marsters, Angelina Jolie, Neil Gamian, Bruce Campbell, Nicholas Brendan, Johnny Depp, George Carlin, Eddie Izzard (transvestite comic genius), and Sean Connery. I'm not sure why but these people have a draw on me.
I don't think music should be as defined as it is. But my tastes fall somewhere in the cracks of the vastness that is defined music. To name some of my faves, that you've probably never heard of, (and some you may have); Rob Dugan (genius), Darling Violetta, Voltaire, Opeth, Vast, Placebo, E.S. Posthumus, Massive Attack, A Perfect Circle, Jeff Buckley, Damien Rice, Damion Suomi, Marilyn Manson, Bush, Guster, Silverchair and such. I listen to a lot of compilations and soundtracks, as well as classical music... rap...I'm pretty sure you're not that interested in this....
My life would be very sad and boring indeed if it weren't for movies. A short list of my favs would include (here it goes, the SHORT list) : Empire Records, all the Kevin Smith's, Eurotrip, The Ninth Gate, Down With Love, Chicago, Demon Knight (I love Billy Zane), Labyrinth, Mystery Science Theater 3000 the movie, Serenity, Cruel Intentions (falling into that category, Valmont and Dangerous Liasons), The Mummy movies (they may suck, but I love them just the same), The Last Unicorn, Anastasia (the cartoon, the real life stuff was really horrible), Bram Stokers Dracula, Dracula 2000, Queen of the Damned, Interview with the Vampire, Hackers, American Psycho (brilliant!!), Memento, Fargo, Closer (I love when a movie makes me uncomfortable), Kama Sutra (a love story), The Last Samurai, Clueless, Clue, Accepted, Batman Begins, Sin City, and a bunch of those old black and white movies that were hilarious! If you're still reading this I commend you. Now, do you remember any of it?
Ah, ye olde teley. When bored to the extreme that i must sit on my ass and stare at a small screen (that isnt my computer) I usually will watch anything comedic for entertainment. The only shows that I actually make a point to watch are the Joss Whedon greats : Buffy, Angel, and Firefly. Joss is just such a genius. Something else I look for is C.S.I., the original Las Vegas version (but I will generally watch any of them). Friends is my fall-back show, and funny as hell in my opinion. I have watched much of Arrested Development on dvd, and I highly recommend it if you can get your hands on some...its excellent stuff. I know it's weird, but i miss Quantum Leap. And I loooooove cartoons.
I like books...a lot...I really enjoy a lot of titles by the authors Laurell k. Hamilton, Anne Rice, Neil Gaiman, Wilbur Smith, and others....oh so many others. There is a series by Nigel Cawthorne called the "sex lives" series. They introduced me to the amazing world of movies in the early nineteen hundreds. They're also a very good read. Also, comics, graphic novels for the particular, (which should count in this section) are now taking up a good portion of my small room. what with the action figures, box sets, posters and four fairly large boxes full...
My favorite super heroes are the real super heroes, not crazy aliens and such. So mostly Batman is my hero. Failing the super variety of hero worship, I think George Carlin is definately worthy of looking up to. He's too nifty for words. I also can't complain about awesome people like Rob Dugan. He's very artsy. In my life, it's been mostly George Carlin....and my friend Perry. BIG influence there. If you know who Bruce Campbell is, you should like him as much as i do! His brother, J. Scott Campbell is a comic genius, or at least pretty damn good....I really liked Danger Girl anyway....But mostly Bruce has made an awesome career as a B list actor with A list skills and a taste for hokey movie premises. It's pretty creative if you ask me.
