I have been in the literary game since '98. I started out as a self-published author, but with the help of Vickie Stringer, my agent at the time, I landed a book deal with a major publisher.I write street fiction under the name JOY and am most known for my Essence Magazine bestselling novels, "Dollar Bill" (published by Triple Crown Publication) and "If I Ruled the World" (published by St. Martin's Press). Other works under the name JOY includes the sequel to If I ruled the world, which is titled "Mama, I'm In Love With A Gangsta" (published by Urban Books), "Girls From Da Hood 2," an anthology in which I was featured with some of the best authors in the business such as New York Times Bestselling author, Nikki Turner(published by Urban Books), "Street Chronicles 2; Girls In The Game," in which I got to grace the pages along with great authors such as Chunichi and KaShamba Williams(published by Urban Books)and "From the Streets to the Sheets," where I'm still in awe that I was able to be in the company of Noire and K'wan (Random House).Under the name Joylynn Jossel, I'm most known for my spicy thrillers, "The Root of All Evil" and its sequel, "When Souls Mate."
