Sky Janssen was born in Lugano, Switzerland, from an indian father and a swiss mother. Since he was young he has been listening through his parents different kinds of music: jazz, psychedelic music from the 70's, reggae. At the age of 16 Sky Janssen bought his first turntables and started djing at various friends partys. 2 - 3 years later, influenced from the rave scene, he started to play techno and playing at bigger events around his hometown. He kept on djing for several years at various parties improving his technique and his record selection. In 1996, together with a school mate he started a project called Dark Alienation, producing a lot of music influenced by artists like Richie Hawtin and Jeff Mills and performed live at various warehouse and illegal parties. In 2003 he graduated at the SAE Institute in Milan as a sound technician and eventually moved to Zürich, the core of the swiss electronic music scene in Switzerland. After only one month after his move he already got his first booking, playing in various afterhours. After one year, his best friend Ezikiel moved to Zurich as well and soon after they started a residency at Hive Club.A At the moment Sky Janssen is working with Dekadance, Hive Club, Cityfox and is playing regularly at Q Club, Rohstofflager, Alte Börse, Klub Elf (Bern), La Ruche (Lausanne).
