I have this sneaking suspicion that my cat has more friends than me.
While this might make me sound, at first glance, utterly pathetic, I think it’s only fair if we take a minute to further explore this theory.
After careful investigation of my humble culdesack, I’ve come to detect at least seven other cats scurrying around the perimeter. While seven might not appear to be much of an impressive number on its own, recent studies clarify that an individual only requires three people in order to be considered among a “healthy circle of friendsâ€, and also the average person is more likely to surround themselves with, at most, two of their closes friends on a daily bases rather than room of acquaintances.
Now, my cat, Spooky, is a daytime roamer and only reacquaints herself with the indoors when the sun is fully set- but during those ten or so hours of light, I like to assume that she is out mingling with the vicinitals.
Because I've know Spooky for nearly six years now, i can safely say that she has the personality of a potential miss USA and is highly experienced in mingling. She makes quick work of ensnaring even the strongest minded in her web of interesting conversation, leaving them with no choice but to yield to her friendship. All seven or of them. And because the average human only keeps two on record, you might say that my cat has more friends than all of you.
