Sounds Like: Ira Walker's vocal style has been compared to the "Greats" from Ray Charles, Otis Redding, to Dwight Yoakam. Ira has written and performed with a star studded list of Music Icons, from Steve Miller, Carlos Santana and Brian May, to joining the Trichromes with Neal Schon (Journey), & Bill Kreutzmann (Grateful Dead). With legendary lyricist Robert Hunter as a co-writer on the project. Ira also did a five year stint in the Sy Klopps Blues Band, where Ira anchored what was called at the time "The best Rhythm & Blues" rhythm section with Bobby Cochran (Elvin Bishop). Working as a songwriter for 7 years with Warner/Chapel publishing, Ira has worked on records that include, Travis Tritt, Randy Travis, Lee Ann Womack, Patti Loveless Steve Earle, David Lee Murphy, Laura Satterfield, Lenny Williams (Tower of Power), Joe Satriani, Big House, Greg Rollie, Tommy Castro, Queen Makedah, & he also wrote the pop hit "I wanna go back" for Eddie Money. Ira got his first publishing /record deal on Fantasy Records (Credence Clearwater Revival) in Berkeley. He formed the Bay Area band "Billy Satellite" and soon signed with Capital Records, produced by Don Gehman (John Cougar). The second record on Warner Bros. was produced by Keith Olsen (Foreigner). With 14 album producer credits to date, the new up-coming CD from Ira Walker is already be considered a true work of art. Featuring many world renown players such as, Brent Mason, Buddy Hyatt, Jim Hyatt, Steven Hunter, Jack White, Brad Gillis, Monty Byrom, Tom Wurth, Johnny Gunn, Tommy Miller, David Neuhuaser, and David Kaffinetti "aka" Viv Savage (Spinal Tap) Ira 's work mate for the last 15 years. Ira is now and forever a part of our Country's Major Export ........ American Roots Music!
