About Me

Hi there. We're Pig Iron Theatre Company , a multidisciplinary ensemble of actors, designers, directors, and other assorted folks based in Philadelphia, PA. Pig Iron creates original work that tries to re-imagine the traditional boundaries of the "theatrical" in interesting ways; our work is sometimes hilarious, sometimes disquieting; it's defiantly low-fi and it tries to use the special tools of theatre to explore new ways of making audiences laugh, cry, recoil in shock, or meditate upon the central issues of human lives and imaginations.This shows itself in a lot of ways: a giant "simulated economic environment" called Pay Up where we take our audiences through a cash-fueled choose-your-own-adventure tour of human regret; an oil-black comedy called Hell Meets Henry Halfway where empty-souled Polish aristocrats engage in a tournament of insults, a battle to determine who laughs last and who cares least; or a queasy, carnivalesque ride through the synaptic war zone of the human mind called (seriously) Chekhov Lizardbrain.
