Angela Weiss was born in Austria and raised between the two countries of Tanzania (East Africa) and Germany. Even at a young age, her exposure of cultural diversity opened her mind to different realms of both African and European concepts of art including photography.During her teenage years, Weiss worked as a Frankfurt based fashion model gaining her entrance to the professional photography world. Yet, she immediately discovered her fascination leaned towards the technical knowledge behind the camera lens. After meeting with her uncle Maurice Weiss, a renowned photographer based in Berlin, who is part of the agency Ostkreuz (www.ostkreuz.de), she knew that being a photographer is what she wanted.
In 2001, Weiss moved to the United States where she committed to furthering her education and complete a degree in commercial photography. Basing Herself in Las Vegas introduced her to the entertainment scene of concerts, shows, and performers’ portraits. Weiss eventually established her career making connections with artists such as Seal and Aerosmith. 2004 brought a landmark opportunity where she toured as a photographer for Madonna’s “Reinvention Tour.†Weiss discovered her talent for working in a fast paced, high-pressure entertainment industry.Currently, Weiss is a freelance photographer working for various agencies including Getty Images, She continues to collaborate and build relationships with international artists from Cirque du Soleil and Stomp Out Loud.Through the years, she has developed a unique style capturing and visually exploring life’s moments. Her intention and challenge is not just to deliver an image, but also to tell a story with it. "Making pictures is like keeping a diary." she says.
