I had a great reign as Ms. Virginia Globe in 2006. Thank you all for your love, friendship, and patience. Personal thanks to those who've entertained me well, made sure I ate, slept, and laughed like you hoped nobody's watching. I like to inspire & help others, use good judgments, work smarter & less harder. THANKS ALL for your enduring love & support with the Hurricane relief efforts. There's absolutely no place like home down-south but I'm reluctant my Families have been accounted for to be alive & well. I wish I could go each year to help out, but I can't. I could sense an uplifting trip yet depressing as well. Uplifting in the sense that there are real and immediate needs that could be fulfilled on many levels. Also depressing in a sense that the destruction from Katrina is so widespread, likely will take years to get the Gulf coast area back to a pre-Katrina semblance of normality. I hope everyone appreciates the sense of endemic loss & that we shouldn't take for granted what we have now & in the future.
