Emerging from the streets of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, James “Jay Dogg” Morency surfaced in 2001 with an eagerness to change the sound of the music industry. Encouraged by his childhood friend Julien J and inspired with a passion to embrace life as a whole after the untimely death of his older brother Moe-C, Jay Dogg’s unique style of delivery blossomed and proved contagious. After the launch of A3 Records in summer of 2001 Jay Dogg soon found himself managing dual musical roles as the young and ambitious front line artist/producer for the label. The label released its first project, “Local Takeover” in spring of 2002 in which Jay Dogg found himself producing 13 of the 16 tracks all of which he appeared on as an artist. A3 released its second album titled “Blow This B**** Up” in the winter of 2002 where Jay Dogg spent most of his experience on the album developing his “on the mic” skills.Identified as a fire MC and recognized highly for his verse on the hit street single “This Life,” Jay Dogg branched out and help formed the dynamic production group Classified in 2003 with childhood friends and creative songwriter Maxon “M.V.P.” Victor and super producer Jeff “Jcheff” Laugerre. In 2004 the team added vocalist Mac to complete the group. Classified released their first project “So Ready” in January of 2005, which in a short time, sold over 7,000 copies independentlyAside for being known for his stellar performance techniques, compelling work ethics and impressive catalog Jay Dogg’s sultry and unique sound proves addictive to the ladies. Bringing energy and aesthetic to every track, Jay Dogg’s versatile flow, smooth yet aggressive sound, and strategic composition of lyrical phenom, undoubtedly serves as a competitive threat to artists and producers nationwide. Jay Dogg is currently preparing for his dual single release club banger “Da Only Lady” and strip club favorite “Lean in da Nookie.”
