In September of 2005...only a month after Hurricane Katrina devastated eastern Louisiana, Hurricane Rita COMPLETELY leveled Cameron Parish in southwest Louisiana. Entire towns were wiped off the map. Three years later...just when the parish was beginning to get back to "normal", Hurricane Ike set its sights on Cameron Parish. Ike did not directly hit the parish, but Cameron received the height of the storm surge. The water rise covered the entire parish...again washing away the homes that had just been rebuilt. I know that this story hasn't been headline news...please read our blog for more info. There are good, hard-working, tax-paying people RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA who are being left homeless. This is completely unfair. Something has to change in the way that disaster housing is handled in the US. Livin' the Music and The Silver Lining Foundation are partnering to bring you the Cameron Recovery Rally on April 25th. Please keep checking back for details, lineup, etc.
